12 Beauty Products Every Fit Girl Needs

Barry’s Bootcamp is a great workout, and the unlimited Oribe shampoo and conditioner in the showers are a total game changer. I feel like I just stepped out of the salon! As a #fitgirl, it’s sweat, wash, repeat, and this can do a lot of damage to the hair and skin if not properly nourished. Of course, proper nutrition is key as well as drinking plenty of water. To complement this, I’ve come up with a list of products that I cannot imagine living without and you're guaranteed to find them on either my vanity, inside my gym bag, or both.

Tatcha Water Cream

When you sweat as much as I do, you need a moisturizer that is going to hydrate without clogging the pores. I discovered this moisturizer at Sephora one day, and was amazed by how 'water-like' the consistency is. The formula is so lightweight that the skin literally 'drinks' it up as soon as it's applied, and is ideal for post-workout when you really don’t want much on your skin. It’s also a great based for makeup, because of it’s gel-based consistency. Not to mention, it smells so fresh and clean.

Nivea Smooth Sensation Body Lotion

If I had a dime for how many people graze my arm, grab it, and tell me how soft my skin is...I'm not even kidding. My skin is baby butt soft, and my secret is applying lotion immediately after showering. Since college, I've been using the Nivea Smooth Sensation lotion and it works like such a charm. It's lightweight, but still hydrating without a strong scent and it’s $6 from Walgreens.

Cold-pressed coconut oil

When you work out a lot, you will likely wash your hair a lot which can result in damaged ends. I try to use dry shampoo whenever I can, but I sweat a TON and on days that I have photo shoots there’s no way I’m going in with greasy hair. Additionally, when you sweat a lot the salt from your sweat actually dries out your hair, too! To combat this, I massage coconut oil into my ends and leave it in for 15 minutes. As soon as I get home, I throw it in my hair and go have a protein shake. By the time I’m done, I’m ready to hit the showers and wash it out.

Supergoop Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45

I picked this up at the Sephora Rouge sale to bring with me to Belize with Surf Yoga Beer later this year, but I’ve been using this everywhere because it’s so compact. When I hit the gym, I don’t need to pack other makeup, because this comes with the loose powder and brush in one. And, with SPF 45, you literally don't need anything else on your face. #OwnYourSkin

Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist

This product is a game changer. What's cool about it is that it comes in a travel size and a full size. I own both, so I keep the travel size in my gym bag and the full size at home. It's got SPF 50, so ideal for anytime you know you'll be out in the sun. This product is great for guys, too!

Kopari Coconut Deodorant

I'll be honest, growing up I have never had a BO problem so I cannot tell you how many times I've left the house without putting on deodorant. After I turned 31 though, I did notice a slight change in my body chemistry, and started to actually use deodorant consistently. One day, one of my SoulCycle instructors, Sumner, told me about this awesome deodorant from Kopari. It's vegan and contains only natural ingredients. Plus, it smells like coconut! Once, I was so distracted I opened the stick, smelled it, closed it up, and actually forgot to put on deodorant. SMH. A stick runs $14, so it's a more than what you'd pay at the drugstore, however, this is all-natural and I’d rather pay a bit more for that than harsh chemicals.

Hint Sunscreen

I used to hate putting on sunscreen for a few reasons. First, it was such a hassle. I figured, I’m brown I don’t burn! However, regardless of how much melanin you have in your skin, the sun’s harsh UV rays can damage multiple layers of your skin, so you don’t even see it! Second, sunscreen smells horrible and is so oily. Enter, Hint. This year, Hint released 3 flavors of scented sunscreen and it is THE best. The mist is super lightweight, and instead of being oily, it gives the skin a very sheer glow. It’s perfect for days you’re going to the beach and want to show off those sexy legs!

Glossier Boy Brow

After a workout, I use a total of 3 makeup products: a lip balm, mascara, and brow gel. I really enjoy this one from Glossier, because of the ease of application and it leaves my brows feeling super clean and natural. It’s cream wax based consistency makes it so easy to use, and it fluffs up my brows in a way where they look fuller, but not unnatural. Plus, a lot of brow gels get sticky and pull on the brow not making it comfortable to wear. The Boy Brow is so comfortable I forget it’s even on. Glossier nailed this one.

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Volume II Mascara

I cycle through mascaras, and this one is my new favorite. Just 1-2 coats on the lashes and they are immediately fuller and longer. It’s also super buildable, so if you’re going for a more va-va-voom look you can totally achieve that look with this mascara. No need for falsies.

Jack Black Lip Balm

Best lip balm ever, because it’s minty fresh and has SPF in it. I keep a few tubes in my gym bag and a stick at home.

Chanel Chance in Eau Fraiche

After a workout, I like feeling and smelling clean and fresh. Chanel Chance in Eau Fraiche is the perfect post-workout fragrance, because it smells so sexy and fresh. 1-2 spritzes will do the job.

Oribe Texturizing Spray

If I can get away with it, I try to avoid washing my hair as much as I can and this stuff from Oribe does the job. After a workout, spray a few spritzes into the hair and tousle. If you need to, run a blow dryer through your hair to ensure it’s nice and dry. It smells fabulous, and also soaks up excess oils so it works great as a dry shampoo.
